Welcome Message
Ambassador Daalder message to the U.S. Mission on June
4, 2009, outlining his leadership approach and NATO’s
three fundamental priorities.
“When President Obama spoke at a town hall meeting in
Strasbourg last April, he noted that the United States
came to Europe “to listen, to learn, and to lead.” To
listen. To learn. To lead. That is how I intend the U.S.
Mission to NATO to operate in the months and years
ahead.”

Daalder
testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations
Committee on April 22, 2009
"The key question for the United States now must be
how we and our Allies can make NATO as effective in the
21st Century as it was in the 20th; how to make this
Alliance, which has stood us so well for so long, an
effective partnership to meet the challenges of today
and tomorrow."
