AN INTERNSHIP WITH THE U.S. MISSION TO NATO: HISTORY IN THE MAKING

Interning at the U.S. Mission to NATO in Brussels, Belgium, offers a unique opportunity to see history in the making. Every year, we recruit approximately 10-12 interns from colleges and universities throughout the U.S. during the Spring, Summer, and Fall terms. Opportunities are available to work in the Political and Public Affairs Sections of the Mission and the Office of the Defense Advisor. Examples of projects USNATO interns have been involved in include helping draft the Communiqué adopted at the Istanbul Summit, analyzing our media outreach efforts, coordinating VIP visits, and preparing briefing materials for the Ambassador.

Students interested in taking advantage of this opportunity should consult the Department of State website (www.careers.state.gov/student) to obtain full details regarding application procedures, eligibility requirements and financial aid. Candidates will be asked to submit a letter of intent to the Intern Coordinator of the Department of State Recruitment Division.

Internships are open to U.S. citizens only. Applicants are encouraged to apply one year in advance in order to allow time for the lengthy background investigation required of selected candidates. As applications are processed in Washington, the U.S. Mission to NATO is unable to respond to individual inquiries.
